More Random Events!

So right now, in my opinion, the random events have become pretty stale and don't really provide much RP potential. Everything is pretty much just "kill it" (blobs, carp, spiders) or "deal with it"(meteors, electrical storms, gravity malfunction). So I think there should be some new ones that have some gray areas. Ideas just off the top of my head:

More kinds of unknown biological entities, maybe some that are neutral or some that are friendly. Add some potential uses for them and baby you got a stew going. Balance the risks of letting unknown biologicals on board and in return they do something neat. Give xenobio something new to do.

An unidentified ship docks with the station, the doors open after like five minutes or something. Who knows what's inside? Could be empty, could be any number of hostiles, could be treasure! Maybe add some windows to the outside, so if you're fast enough you can do some recon before the doors open.

Uh oh, looks like a cargo transport in the area collided with an asteroid, scattering the goods in your area! Maybe have them do some minor damage on impact, much less than meteors, or have them do no damage at all I dunno. But anyways, bam there's a bunch of random cargo shipments now around the station.

Anyways, you get the idea, just more stuff to do on those, ahem, more boring extended rounds.

I was actually thinking about this sort of thing a couple days ago actually. Here are a couple things I've brainstormed up.

- Centcomm Surplus Shipment
Randomized crate(s) arrive on the cargo shuttle for free. These can range from cigarette packs, empty PDA's, and seed packets to weapons (in locked crates), machinery, or something super duper seekrit.

- Door Firewall Breaches
So far, I've only seen this happen to the doors in the brig and virology; how about some more places that get stuck open? R&D? The bar? Cargo?

- Corrupted Priority Messages
For those really long extended rounds. A garbled up message is received by the station. After some time the communications computers burp out an "abridged version" of the message for the heads and security to enforce on the station. Hilarity ensues.

These three are all I've managed to think up for now. Feel free to criticise, add onto, or what have you.

We need more random events, more deadly, less deadly, more RP oriented, we gotta make the station feel more alive! I like the ideas so far though, so if you can think of more please do

Some ideas off the top of my head-

-Deadly-Solar Flare Erruption
The station is in the path of a lethal solar flare and its coming up fast, the station has less than 3-4 minutes to evacuate to the asteroid bases for protection, engineering can re-enforce area's of the station against the massive temperature spike by building re-enforced walls and setting up portable cooling devices (Resomi and other temperature sensitives may not survive on the station period)

-Deadly-Dark Matter Implosion (Round ender)
An exotic particle just passed through the supermatter engine, systems all over the station begin over charging, blowing out lights, making doors (Including external doors) malfunction, the crew must evacuate before the reactor goes critical, dumping the core will buy some time but the dark matter will continue to spread across the station until it hits critical mass and swallows the station.

-Moderate-Rogue autonomous weapon
Long range sensors detect an incoming long range autonomous ballistic missile from some forgotten war and its pegged the station as its target, the missile has enough destructive force to wipe an entire section of the station about the size of medbay, evacuate the section and get ready to operate repairs or try and set up defences to shoot down the missile before it strikes

-Moderate-Rogue Resomi AI Virus
A shipment called by cargo was intercepted by Resomi pirates, their ship was infected with rogue AI and passed it to the freighter and its been brought to the station, access levels scramble, environmental adjust to suit resomi needs, lights switch to emergency mode, autonomous security systems begin arresting crew on sight without warning

-Moderate-Structural Failure
Finally Nanotrasens's cheap skate nature shows, a section of hull gives way and causes depressurization, emergency systems kick in and engineering must get to work repairing NS's blunder.

-Safe-Breaker failure
One of the breakers just flipped on its own, isolating a department from the main power grid, the sudden power deprivation robbed all APC's in the department of power, call an engineer to come reset the system or do it yourself if you have some insulated gloves

-Safe-Passing Broke Hauler
A hauler that went bankrupt recently is passing through the system and dumping off his wares, free assortment of misc items delivered to station

-Safe-Sol Gov Inspection (Requires players to join the inspection team)
The government isnt oblivious to corporate lazyness, a Sol Gov inspection team is coming to the station to ensure that everything is in its best conditions for safety and productivity

-Safe-Random Robot Delivery
Nanotrasen's other facilities are experiencing a worker boom, they've sent some of their robots here to make space on their other stations for employees

-Safe-Intercepted Ancient Earth Deep Space Satellite
A satellite launched by an ancient earth corporation years ago just drifted into the system playing a long winded message in many human languages "Welcome to Earth" communications are bombarded by the signals until it leaves

-Safe-News of Another NS Station's Destruction
Central Command reports a station was destroyed due to ignorant staff neglecting critical systems and are ordering an immediate self inspection and want a report from all active stations

-Safe-Minor Outbreak onboard
Some idiot just brought the common cold aboard again! Time to put somebody in virology and break out the hand wipes

-Safe-Accidental Overload
An APC just reached its warranty expiry date and blew out, typical...

-Safe-Bank Holiday
By Sol Gov law for some unknown reason back on Earth, everybody is obligated to take the day off in respect of the day, who know's why its so important but who needs an excuse to go to the bar?

Bluespace ruptures:
Hostile, neutral, friendly entities(varying from mice all the way to hivebots) start appearing on the station. If bluespace drives aren't stabilized via console in the bridge they slowly get so bad that the station starts coming apart.

Rework and reclassify the current events and work backwards from there, I do have some ideas floating about that we could do but I'll save those for another time and flesh them out.
Deadly- every can die from these
Moderate- not everyone will die from these
Safe- only idiots can die from this
Normality- nothing is happening
We could go through what we already have classify them into these categories while trying to simplify them for our coders to do.
